Georgetown

Charming affluence along the waterfront

Georgetown is likely the picture you have in mind when you think of DC glamour. The walkable neighborhood is one of the oldest (founded even before DC) and most exclusive areas in the city. Set on the Potomac River, Georgetown is postcard beautiful with tree-lined, cobblestone streets; jogging and cycling trails along the canal; manicured gardens; and the gothic spires of its namesake university. It’s also home to some of the city’s best luxury and big-brand shopping, dining and nightlife and is surrounded by green spaces including Rock Creek and Montrose parks. The neighborhood isn’t afraid of modernization, but the engaged community makes sure it never loses its historic charm.

ARCHITECTURAL STYLE

Rowhouses featuring distinct styles and histories are among some of the oldest and most exclusive in Washington, DC, but the classic exteriors of Federal townhouses and Georgian mansions are often filled with modern interiors. The development along the waterfront has brought with industrial lofts and condos.
