Great Falls in Virginia has its fair share of high-profile residents and for good reason; this is a place to live quietly and within a tightknit community. However, it’s also one of the most expensive suburbs near the city. Once a large farming community, Great Falls maintains its rural feel with winding country roads, leafy trees and a main square, home to two historic buildings including the 1889 Forestville Schoolhouse. The location, along the Potomac River and next to an 800-acre national park, is ideal for those who love the outdoors. While it’s got a small-town feel, Great Falls has its fair share of restaurants and shops and is known for the high quality of its public schools.
Great Falls has managed to keep large developers out of town, so there are no apartments, townhomes or condos here. What you will find, however, are large estates and homes thanks to the area’s roots as a farming community.
